You’ve seen Nick’s on College, it is the Italian restaurant serving Italian American classics across from CSU -and rumor says it is a go-to for great a great Fort Collins hamburger. Opening 2015 and a very family ran restaurant. What gets Burger Mike in a Italian restaurant?

Well a few years ago the local newspaper ran a March Madness Burger Bracket and out of 64 places in Fort Collins Nick’s won first place! How the heck does a burger from a Italian place win?  People must be going crazy or Nick paid someone off or something else…..Italian Restaurant won best Fort Collins hamburger, yeah right. So I had to find out which was the true answer to my question of how they won and this is what I found out.

Nick’s Famous Burger

Walked in the Italian restaurant with jazzy decor and a very friendly staff, at this point we were near the (hopefully) end of restricted pandemic seating. We were seated and the cleanliness was great. Clean floors, tables and windows everything looked great. Our waiter, Luke, was attentive and service was great. The order came out fresh and hot. The bun was a brioche perfectly toasted. The toppings had fresh tomato, lettuce, and pickles that have very good tanginess to them, something I have not tasted in a small pickle.

Thickness of the meat was about ½ lb. cooked just the way you want it (you don’t alwashave this option). The flavor here “knock it out of the park” was incredible! There was a pepper flavor that came through with the taste of great quality of meat and other secret spices was mind blowing. The white cheddar cheese gave it a creamy flavor that held all the taste together. This is where I mention the special sauce that made the lettuce, cheese and meat pop – well done, WOW!

The side of fries were some of the best fries ever, head to head with the Colorado Room’s fries. Crispy, hand cut potatoes with sea salt, pepper and parmesan and the flavor goes on. The generous serving size was spot on for the price the burger held it own and they were not skimpy on the fries which I LOVE!

So for $14.50 this Fort Collins Hamburger was the way to go and I would do it again a 1000 times. To answer my question, how a Italian Restaurant was awarded the Best Burger in Fort Collins is plain and simple: They have a KICK ASS BURGER! Way to go Nick’s, this is well deserved and I recommend this burger to anyone looking for their next NOCO burger.
