The Roost – Longmont, Colorado

Equidistant from Fort Collins and Denver, Longmont’s The Roost has been host to Guy Fieri a few times and that enough calls my name. One of Longmont’s anchor eateries, The Roost is known for their dreamy rooftop patio as well as their robust menu. When you walk in they have a little army of hostess ready to sit you quickly with a warm welcome. As you walk in this place you see how bright and clean it is.

The burger comes on a potato bun which was nicely toasted. White cheddar on top really does not stand out and has a very little creamy taste but not a lot there. Crispy onions were crisp and had a good flavor, not over cooked or battered. House pickles have some good tang and crispness and the garlic aioli was on the mark with a very good homemade flavor (my wife ketp snagging if for her fries). The BBQ sauce was a little too much, it over powered the burger flavors for sure. The bacon was smoke house style with a good crispness to it but was also lost in the BBQ. The Burger itself was good but was missing some flavor, some seasoning and some POW. It was 1 ¼ inch thickness. You can get a number of varieties. I got the Hot Wing style and covered in franks hot sauce or something very close. Cheese and garlic were good, but again, I should have gone with the plain because too much hot sauce on anything can overdo it. Good sized meal for $15.00 and you have the option to upgrade your fries to a variety of truffle options.
