Dirty Juicy Burgers

Houston, Texas

What a name I don’t know where they got it but it ROCKS! Walking in it’s a small place with maybe a dozen tables. It has the perfect Houston Vibe for sure! Houston sports memorabilia all over the walls (I am not commenting on the state of the Astros right now, let’s call that even). Coming back to Houston gave it a nice feel. We walked up to the counter and waited before the owner came out of the back and took our order. This is a very straighforward menu, everything is sold separately with no meal deals. The place smelled fantastic and people there were really enjoying their meals. You have 19 hamburgers and  8 chicken sandwiches to choose from, along with your choice of fries or onion rings (check out the images so you can see what type of rings they offer). Nothing fancy. BUT, they have Blue Bell Ice Cream,  a true Texs staple!

Dirty Bleu Cheese Burger

The service was spot on. I was wondering why it took a little while to get our order and get our food (not so long) but they make everything from scratch in the back. She was literally taking orders hand making burgers and baking buns! WOW that fresh. The place is very clean. The buns were the freshest, most delicious buns I have ever had on my venture. (Think kolache bread but not as sweet – if you know you know).  They were soooo soft and the taste was like no other burger I can recall. It had a very unique taste that I can’t put my finger on the only thing I can think of was the homemade element. The Bleu Cheese was nice and smooth, lots of chunks of it; again, fresh. Mayo and lettuce was good, nothing much here. The Bacon was crispy and full of smoked flavor. The patty was ½ pound of Certified Angus Beef over an inch of thickness. They were made by hand and the hand patty burger was like being at home which is great. The flavor of the burger was very flavorful and JUICY! The seasoning they used there was again unique, must be the homemade and fresh that really made this burger pop. Square cut fries seasoned to perfection and crispy not over cooked. The size of the meal was good, maybe a few more fries but no one is walking away hungry especially if you get BLUE BELL ICE CREAM. The cost of the meal was spot on. You are getting more for what you pay for for sure. $8.50 for the burger 2.50 for fries. Go east on 1960 and check it out!!
