Brothers Bar & Grill 

* Disclaimer time – one of the most central Burger Mike objectives is to enjoy and share locally owned burger joints. Brothers is NOT locally owned and in fact qualifies as a chain. However, I work in midtown and have heard repeatedly that Brothers has the best burgers in town. In the name of burger truth here we are!

Located in the middle of Downtown Old Town Fort Collins. Walking into the place it is huge inside, TVs everywhere with the feel of a Denver sportsbar. Great for sports night and college students. Brothers is new to Foco having opened in 2021 near the former Drunken Monkey. We walked in and we were seated fairly fast and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. The place was not that clean (especially  the bathrooms) which was disappointing (in fact, my 20-something daughter said “yeah, Brothers is kind of grungy” and I agree with that). 

Nice Spice Burger

The toppings were nicely flavored with jalapeno not too hot just right. Dressing chipotle Ranch again was really good, nice and creamy. Pepper Jack Cheese was great with it melted full of flavor. Topped with Tumbleweed onions which are like onion strings which were fried just right (these may have been the best part of the meal). The bun was a brioche bun toasted, but there was nothing outstanding about this bun. Lettuce & tomato normal cut and freshness. The taste of the meat was good with flame broiled flavor and just enough juices. The patty was made of Sirloin & Chuck cuts and was on the patty was on the thinner side so much we were told that cooking it medium may be hard because of the thinness. Let’s talk fries – crinkle, and undercooked and underseasoned.  This type of fries needs to be cooked just right to make it work. Size of Meal was good on fries but small on the burger. Even the pictures are made to look like a big giant burger which was not the case. The best thing was the price of $11.99. Not my best Fort Collins burger by a longshot but now I have discussion points when people are telling me to get to Brothers for a burger.
